A Persian Rap Gathering
in 2018, there was a Persian rap gathering called “Rok” in Tehran. It was an exclusive and underground event. Despite not having official permission to perform on stage in Iran, the fearless rapper took the risk and courageously hosted intimate rap gatherings in secret locations. These sessions were recorded on camera for his dedicated audience in Tehran to experience live online. Despite not having permission, they accepted the risk and performed for the camera, so their audience could watch it live in Tehran and online. Our decision to film the gathering had two purposes: to let the audience in Tehran virtually share the live experience and because we loved the idea and simply went for it.
