Log Line:
the latest video directed for “Black Hand,” “Black Hand,” is the pseudonymous Iranian graffiti artist known for using Stencil art to comment on social issues and the environment.

Synopsis:
“Black Hand” is an anonymous Iranian graffiti artist often referred to as “Iran’s Banksy.” Through illegal street art, Black Hand addresses sexism in Iranian society, political events in the Middle East, and environmental concerns.

Director’s Statement:
Whales, with their long lifespans, are elusive creatures, but even they have not escaped the impact of human actions. Recent incidents, such as the beaching of two whales on Kish Island, Iran, and similar occurrences worldwide, serve as a confirmation. In his latest work, Black Hand delves into environmental themes. Joining this project, Moody Mousavi and I (Mahan Khomamipour) contributed to filmmaking and music. “We Killed the Whale Too” features two characters symbolizing the generation whose natural heritage is under threat on our planet. The destruction of nature has reached an alarming level, and future generations might not have the opportunity to compensate if awareness doesn’t increase.
