On Underground

“On Underground” is a captivating documentary about the dreams and struggles of two street dancers in Iran.

“On Underground” follows the inspiring stories of two street dancers (B-Boys) in Iran. First, we meet “PARVIZ,” who spent years striving to dance alongside his idol, “B-boy CICO,” and now seizes a chance when CICO visits Iran as a judge. Next, we discover “FARZIN,” the Persian break dance champion, as he overcomes obstacles like military service and passport issues to pursue his dream of competing in the World Wide BC1 Competition.

Director Statement:
“As my debut documentary, ‘On Underground’ delves into the lives of the young generation in Iran, revealing their unique perspectives and struggles. Despite the challenges of being a dancer in an Islamic society, these youths relentlessly pursue their forbidden dreams.”
