War does not end when the guns fall silent; it lingers in the scars left on the walls, the surfaces of cities turned into silent witnesses of destruction. Flat Melody is a photographic series that captures the traces of war—the bullet holes, the shattered facades, the wounds of buildings that once stood untouched. These marks are more than remnants of violence; they form an unwritten melody of conflict, a composition inscribed by gunfire, played on the architecture of war-torn cities. Each bullet hole is a note, each shattered surface a rhythm—together, they create a flat melody, a visual symphony of survival and loss. In these images, the city’s walls become both a battlefield and a canvas, where war has left its indelible mark. Unlike the spoken or written testimonies of war, these traces do not lie; they hold a history that cannot be rewritten, only observed. Through this work, I seek to highlight the silent permanence of war’s destruction, how it transforms the urban landscape into a museum of violence.
